Resting ECGThe most basic cardiological examination is at first the analysis of the surface ECG at rest. The resting ECG can already provide information about heart attacks that may have already occurred or about certain forms of disordered action of the heart. In this case both bradycardic (too slow heart beat) and tachycardic (too fast heart beat) rhythm disturbances can be recorded. In addition the resting ECG permits the analysis of the heart rate, this means whether there is a regular or irregular heart beat as well as the analysis of extrasystoles (extra beats), which are frequently sensed as a galloping rhythm. |
